Schedule: Choice of 3x12 (36 hours) or 4x12 (48 hours)

Float Required: Yes – Within specialty; travelers are first to float
Call Requirement: None (No pre-scheduled on-call requirements)

Position Overview:

Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department serving patients across all age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations with varying levels of acuity.

Job duties:

• Perform rapid triage, assessment, and stabilization of emergency patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Administer emergency medications, IV therapies, blood products, and procedural sedation while monitoring patient response.
• Manage respiratory emergencies including ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP therapy, and airway interventions.
• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, stroke care, and emergency response interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely, evidence-based emergency care and accurate documentation.

Requirements:

License: Active Maryland RN License or Compact RN License required at time of submission
Experience: Minimum 2 years of ER experience preferred; Will consider 1 year with strong ED experience; Community hospital experience required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI Required
Other requirement: Epic experience preferred; Must be comfortable floating within specialty; Every other weekend required; Maximum 7 days RTO request allowed.

Unit: Emergency Department – 47 Rooms
Patient Ratios: 1:4 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: All emergency diagnoses including cardiac emergencies, strokes, respiratory conditions, trauma-related cases, psychiatric emergencies, pediatric illnesses, infections, neurological conditions, orthopedic injuries, and other high-acuity emergency presentations.
