Description

2 Special Education Teachers will be held on bench for district-wide deployment

Assignments may include:
- Resource/Inclusion classrooms
- Self-contained special education programs
- Behavioral or specialized support programs
Teachers may serve in additional capacities such as:
- Case Manager
- Teacher of Record
- Process Coordinator
- Academic Evaluator
Placement is determined by:
- Student IEP caseloads
- Compliance needs
- School-level staffing gaps
Work model may be:
- In-person
- Hybrid
- Virtual (based on district needs

Position-Specific Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with FAPE
Schedule and facilitate IEP meetings
Serve as case manager for assigned students
Maintain required documentation:
- IEPs
- Progress reports
- Prior written notices
- Meeting documentation
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Monitor and document student progress and compliance
Supervise and support paraprofessionals and support staff
Ensure all services meet district, state, and federal standards
Apply evidence-based instructional strategies
Complete required billing/documentation per district policies
Communicate clearly with staff, families, and stakeholders
Participate in:
- Problem-solving teams
- IEP teams
- Professional development

Supervised Employees

May include:

Paraprofessionals
New Teachers
Support Staff (based on assignment)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Active or eligible Missouri Teaching License (Special Education endorsement required)
Strong knowledge of:
- Special education practices
- IEP development and compliance
- Differentiated instruction
Experience with assistive and instructional technology
Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
