Description

Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36.

Primary Location: OU Health - Oklahoma City, OK.

Shift Requirements: 12 HR Nights 1845-0700 -MUST attend huddle.

Float Requirements: None, may work on unit as traditional traveler if resident is in didactic class for that day.

On Call/Call Back Requirements: None.

Weekend rotation: 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule period.

Holiday Expectations: 1 major and 1 minor summer and winter holiday.

Required Certifications to be Attached upon Submittal: Active OK RN License or compact, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI, PALS, TNCC.

Minimum Experience: 2 years, minimum 1 travel assignment completed.

*Level I Trauma experience required*.

Charting Experience Required: EPIC required, at least 6 months recent experience; comfortable with all types of code narrators.

Required Skillset: IV insertions and central line management, med administration with titratable gtts, MTP protocol, Vent and oxygen management, chest tube management, positive attitude.

Unit Information (Bed size, Case type, Patient ratio): 6 trauma rooms, 30 are general medical beds, 16 hall beds and 20 plus lounge vertical flow beds/chairs.

180-200 patients seen per day.

Ratios are 1:4, may flex up to 1:5.

Th recruiters are super nice and helpful.

Cons

Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
