Description
- Radius: 60 MILES, DL must be submitted.
- Week of orientation: Please ensure clinicians are in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are remote.
Unit L&D/PP/MB.
- # L&D/PP Beds 15 LDRP Beds.
- # OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections? 2 OR Suites.
- # Triage beds 3 Beds.
- Post-Partum Beds Newly open dedicated postpartum unit.
- # Births per day? Month? Year? Approx.100 deliveries/month.
- Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios? "Labor 1:1-2.
- Postpartum 1:1-4.
- Triage 1:1-3.
- If you perform the transition role then there is one RN to transition and one to care for mom.

- Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?).
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients "Labor: Perform triage, Labor, antepartum, postpartum, OR (circulator).
Transition (catch baby and transition) experience is preferred but not required.
Occasionally care for post-op hysterectomies.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills "Must have 1yr specialty within the last 3 years and 1yr of travel experience is highly preferred.
With the new postpartum dedicated unit then postpartum and L&D positions can be filled with RNs who only have postpartum or L&D experience respectively.
- Those that can float throughout the LDRP area are preferred, but RNs dedicated to the specific specialty in the job title (L&D or postpartum) can be hired for expediency if no one with the preferred versatile experience has applied.
- Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? 24/7 Scrub techs for c-sections are available.- EFM System EPIC + OBIX (fetal monitoring system).
- Is there a call or standby requirement? 2-12 hour shifts/ month, If RN is low censused, the RN will remain on call and be available to come in should the census change.

Th recruiters are super nice and helpful.
Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
