Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Home Health

Location: Atlanta, GA (Coverage includes Atlanta, Decatur, Clarkston, Scottdale, and surrounding areas)
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks (Potential Extension)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5 × 8-Hour Shifts | 40 Hours/Week Guaranteed
Mileage Reimbursement: IRS Mileage Rate ($0.72/mile)

 

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide high-quality home health rehabilitation services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will deliver prescribed treatment plans, document patient progress, and help patients improve mobility, strength, and independence in the home setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver physical therapy treatments according to the established plan of care.
  • Assist patients in improving mobility, balance, strength, and functional independence.
  • Document all patient visits accurately using Homecare Homebase (HCHB).
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, and home safety.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Travel to patient homes within the assigned coverage area.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license.
  • Home Health experience is required (no exceptions).
  • Homecare Homebase (HCHB) documentation experience preferred.
    • Candidates without HCHB experience may be considered at a reduced rate during a two-week training period, subject to manager approval.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.

Additional Information

  • Coverage area includes Atlanta, Decatur, Clarkston, Scottdale, and may extend to other territories within a 60-mile radius of the facility as needed.
  • Average productivity: 6–7 patient visits per day, depending on visit type.
