Description
- Position: RRT/CRT
- Location: Nyack, NY
- Shift: Day/Night 3x12 Hours (it would start as a couple of weeks of Night
- Shifts, then several weeks of Day Shifts and then back to Night Shifts in September.)
- Contract Duration: 10 Weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
Pay Breakdown:
- Weekly Gross: $2,651
- W2: $33/hr.
- Stipend: $1,463 Weekly
Requirements:
- NY State Respiratory Care License required
- 2 Years of Respiratory Therapist experience - Required
- RRT or CRT credentials are required.
- BLS, ACLS - Required
Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a 10-week assignment with a leading healthcare facility. The Respiratory Therapist will provide specialized respiratory care to critically ill patients. The ideal candidate has recent strong critical care skills, and is committed to delivering safe, evidence-based respiratory care in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, CPAP, mechanical ventilation, and other respiratory treatments.
- Manage and monitor neonatal ventilators, high-frequency ventilation, and airway support equipment.
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and respond to respiratory emergencies as part of the critical care team.
- Obtain and analyze arterial, capillary, and venous blood gases as appropriate.
- Monitor patient response to therapy and adjust treatments according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and respiratory care standards.
- Float to other respiratory care areas within competency as required.
