Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) with orthopedic and joint replacement experience for a travel assignment in Easton, Maryland. This opportunity is ideal for nurses looking to grow their travel careers, as first-time travelers are welcome with strong Med/Surg and Ortho/Joint experience.

Start Date: September 8, 2026
Contract Length: 16 Weeks
Shift: Nights
Schedule: 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36
Patient Ratio: 1:6
Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Holiday Requirement: Required as scheduled

Unit Information

This position supports a busy Orthopedic/Joint Replacement Unit caring for adult and geriatric patients recovering from orthopedic procedures and joint replacement surgeries. Nurses work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.

Responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Perform focused patient assessments and identify care needs.
Monitor, analyze, and document changes in patient condition.
Develop and update patient care plans based on assessments and outcomes.
Administer treatments and interventions according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Educate patients and families regarding care plans and recovery.
Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and compliant patient care environment.
Apply clinical judgment and critical thinking to prioritize patient care needs.
Adhere to all facility, state, federal, and nursing practice standards.

Requirements

Required

Active Maryland RN License
BLS Certification
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
Strong orthopedic/joint replacement experience
Ability to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays

Preferred

ACLS Certification
CPI Certification
NIH Stroke Certification
Previous travel experience (not required)
