Job Title: Inpatient Pharmacist – Alaska

Location: Sitka, Alaska 99835
Pay Rate: $ 97/Hourly
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: 4 × 10-Hour Shifts | 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Schedule: Weekends & Holidays | Call Rotation
Start Date: September 21, 2026

Mandatory Qualifications for this Job

Active, unrestricted Alaska Pharmacist License
Pharm.D. degree from an accredited program
Current BLS Certification
Flu vaccination required
Strong inpatient/hospital pharmacy experience
Excellent medication safety and clinical judgment skills
Strong knowledge of drug therapy, dosing, and pharmacy regulations
Effective communication and patient-care skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
Pharmacy residency preferred
Pre-2003 B.Pharm candidates may qualify with 3 years of hospital/ambulatory experience

Roles and Responsibilities

Review, verify, and safely dispense medications
Perform medication therapy management and chart reviews
Counsel patients on medications and treatment
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams
Document clinical interventions accurately
Provide drug information and therapy recommendations
Manage medication inventory and formulary selection
Support and guide pharmacy technicians and students
Participate in quality improvement and pharmacy committees
Ensure accurate oral and IV medication preparation
Respond to urgent medication needs
Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards
