Description

Pharmacist – Travel Assignment


Specialty: Pharmacist
Shift: 4x10
Schedule: 07:30 AM – 06:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

 

Required Qualifications

  • Current Alaska Pharmacist License – REQUIRED
  • Unrestricted Alaska Registered Pharmacist License
  • Pharm.D. degree
    • Candidates licensed before 2003 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy may be considered with 3 years of hospital and/or ambulatory pharmacy experience
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • Flu vaccination – REQUIRED
  • Pharmacy residency recognized by ASHP is preferred

Job Responsibilities

  • Review prescriptions for appropriateness, interactions, allergies, contraindications, and lab abnormalities
  • Verify and dispense medications accurately
  • Provide medication counseling and patient education
  • Perform medication therapy management and chart reviews
  • Provide drug information and clinical consultation to providers and staff
  • Enter prescriptions into pharmacy software
  • Oversee/direct pharmacy technicians and support personnel
  • Participate in quality improvement, clinical, and administrative activities
  • Maintain appropriate medication inventory and formulary
  • Support pharmacy-run clinics and health promotion activities

Schedule / Coverage

  • 4x10-hour shifts
  • 07:30 AM – 06:30 PM

Travel / Compliance Requirements

  • Traveler must live 50+ miles from the facility
  • Current Alaska license must be active
  • Fingerprinting is required through SEARHC in Juneau
  • Start date will be at least 6 weeks after fingerprint cards are received
  • After acceptance, traveler should schedule fingerprints and mail the cards within 2–3 days to avoid delays.
  • Agency is responsible for assisting with housing and transportation
  • However, SEARHC does not provide housing or flights
  • Rate is all-inclusive
