Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
• Work in the intra-procedural/endoscopy setting.
• Assist with GI procedures including:
  • Colonoscopy
  • EGD
  • ERCP
  • Bronchoscopy
• Perform and assist with advanced endoscopy procedures.
• Monitor patients and assist the procedural team throughout procedures.
• Prepare and troubleshoot endoscopy equipment and supplies.
• Assist with biopsies, dilations, banding, injections, foreign-body retrieval, clips, and snare procedures.
• Assist with ERCP procedures including cannulation, stent placement, sphincterotomy, balloon sweep, and basket retrieval.
• May float to Pre-Op if Endoscopy volume is low.
• Collaborate with the procedural team and proactively assist other team members.

Requirements

• RN degree – Required for RN candidates
• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required
• 3+ years of experience – Required
• Intra-procedural Endoscopy experience – REQUIRED
• Gastroenterology/Endoscopy experience – REQUIRED
• Must have strong procedural/technical experience.
• Must be able to perform the listed critical endoscopy skills.
• Procedural Tech experience is a must.
• Minimum 3.2 overall rating on Skills Checklist.
