Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery / Obstetrics
Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona 86504
Pay Rate: Competitive | Based on Experience
Shift: 12-Hour Day Shift
Contract: 16 Weeks
Mandatory Qualifications for this Job
- Active Arizona RN License or applicable compact license
- Minimum 5 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Recent Postpartum and Newborn care experience
- Current AHA BLS Certification
- Current AHA ACLS Certification
- Current NRP Certification
- Current AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification
- RNC-EFM may substitute for AWHONN Advanced FHM
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Labor & Delivery nursing care
- Monitor maternal and fetal status during labor
- Perform fetal heart monitoring and identify complications
- Assist with vaginal and Cesarean deliveries
- Provide postpartum and newborn care
- Support breastfeeding and BFHI practices
- Educate patients and families on maternal and newborn care
- Administer medications and treatments safely
- Monitor patients and newborns for condition changes
- Support approximately 40 deliveries and 6 C-sections monthly
- Serve as Charge Nurse when trained
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation
- Follow infection control and patient safety standards
- Float to qualified departments as needed
