Emergency Department RN
Department Details
- 24-bed ED
- 16 vertical beds
- Level III Trauma Center
- 4–5:1 patient ratios
- Primarily lower-acuity emergency patients; no major trauma volume
- Family-like unit with excellent teamwork
- Self-scheduling
- Rural environment allows for increased autonomy and skill development
Experience
- No new graduates
- ED experience required in some capacity
- 1+ year of ED experience preferred
- Cross-training may be available for acute-care RNs with previous ED experience in another role
Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- 2 on-call shifts every 6 weeks
6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Compensation
- 1 year: $33.67/hr
- 10 years: $44.62/hr
- 15+ years: up to $50.71/hr
Differentials:
- Night/Evening: $3.25/hr
- Weekend: 10% of base pay
- BSN: $1.00/hr
- MSN: $2.00/hr
- Driving more than 1 hour: $4.00/hr
Sign-On Bonus:
- 0–10 years experience: $20,000
- 10+ years experience: $30,000
- Lump sum paid at 90 days with a 1-year commitment
