Description

Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse

Location

Albany, Georgia

Contract

17 weeks
Nights
12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Georgia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
Experience in a(n) Acute Care setting
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Driver's License

Cardiac stepdown / progressive care unit
Patient ratio: 1:4
Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
Floating may be required to ICU; if the nurse cannot take ICU-level patients, they may be asked to task in the ICU
Floor orientation is 3 shifts
Natural colored hair required
No fake nails or shellac
No facial piercings
No visible tattoos

Unit Notes

Telemetry monitoring is used
Common patient population includes cardiovascular surgery and cardiac patients, including CABG, CHF, afib with RVR, pacemakers, ablations, and chest tubes
Pacer wire removal is preferred; orientation may be provided if needed
