Cardiac Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist
Job Summary
The Cardiac Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the direction of a physician in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. The technologist provides technical and clinical support during interventional cardiology procedures while maintaining patient safety, radiation safety, and departmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for Cardiac Cath Lab procedures, including:
- Cardiac catheterizations
- Angioplasty
- Structural heart procedures
- Peripheral angiography and angioplasty
- Temporary pacemaker insertion
- LV assist device insertions
- Provide both sterile and non-sterile technical and clinical assistance during procedures.
- Operate advanced imaging equipment according to established guidelines, protocols, and safety standards.
- Maintain compliance with radiation safety and patient safety requirements.
- Perform quality assurance checks on Cath Lab equipment.
- Assist with maintaining inventory and supplies for Cath Lab procedures.
- Support accurate coding and billing of Cath Lab procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency with UHS information systems.
- Participate in ongoing education to stay current with new techniques, technologies, and procedures.
- Instruct students and residents and perform preceptor duties when required.
- Comply with the Interventional Cardiology department's on-call policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology required.
Required Certifications & Licensure
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License
- ARRT(R) certification
- BLS certification from AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross
