Description

RN – Med/Surg / Telemetry


Shift: Evening – 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday
Contract: 13 weeks
 

 

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience – preferred
  • Minimum 1 year Telemetry experience – preferred
  • Minimum 1 year Pediatrics experience – preferred
  • Strong experience with:
    • Patient assessment and care planning
    • Medication administration and IV therapy
    • Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
    • Surgical patient care
    • Pain management
    • Chest tubes, drains, feeding pumps, and orthopedic/traction equipment
    • Patient/family education
    • Discharge planning
    • Delegation and supervision of nursing staff

Required License & Certifications

  • Current Massachusetts RN License – REQUIRED
  • ACLS required upon hire
    • Candidate may start with an active BLS and obtain AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire
  • PALS preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, reassess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Administer medications and IV therapy safely
  • Monitor and document cardiac rate, rhythm, and ST-segment changes
  • Provide surgical patient/family education and ongoing assessment
  • Assess and manage patient pain
  • Complete medication reconciliation documentation
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and notify physicians appropriately
  • Delegate and supervise nursing interventions
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Promote patient safety and identify opportunities to reduce medical errors
  • Support colleagues through precepting, training, and professional development

Candidate Must-Haves

MA RN License + BLS/ACLS + 1 year Med/Surg/Telemetry experience preferred + willingness to work 40 hours/week on evenings, every other weekend and holidays.
