Location: Minneapolis & St. Paul, Minnesota

Start Date: 08/24/2026 or 09/14/2026

Contract: 11 weeks

Hours: 48/week

Shifts: Straight Days or Straight Nights (12-hour shifts)

Pay: $4,228/week

Role Overview

Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients with life-threatening illnesses, trauma, and complex surgical conditions. This role includes caring for pre-operative and post-operative PICU and CVICU patients while delivering family-centered care across Children's Minnesota's Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses.

Required Experience

• 2 years PICU nursing experience required
• Experience caring for pre-operative and immediate post-operative PICU surgical patients
• Experience with pediatric trauma patients
• Pediatric CVICU experience accepted with competency in cardiac surgical patients
• Ability to care for pre- and post-cardiac procedural patients
• Clinical competence in critical care nursing
• Leadership ability in crisis situations
• Experience working in a team-based environment

Requirements

• Current Minnesota RN license
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• ACLS preferred
• NRP preferred
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Successful completion of Amergis testing requirements
• Evidence of required CEUs for state practice
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Additional Details

• Float between Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses as needed
• Charting system: Epic
• Patient ratios: 1:1 to 1:2
• Every other weekend required
• No call required
• Phone interview with unit manager required
• Facility may cancel up to 24 hours per 13-week period
• Uniform: Royal blue scrub bottoms and kid-friendly or plain scrub tops
