Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Trauma Stepdown to join a dynamic healthcare team providing care to trauma and surgical patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent critical thinking abilities, and experience caring for patients with complex medical and surgical needs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to trauma and surgical patients
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies safely and accurately
• Manage central lines, catheters, and other specialized equipment
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and clinical data
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery
• Respond to emergency situations and provide lifesaving interventions, including CPR, as needed

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Acute care, stepdown, critical care, PCU, ICU, trauma, or emergency department experience preferred
• Experience caring for high-acuity patients strongly preferred

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• PALS certification as required
• Current health screening documentation in accordance with facility and state requirements
