Clinical Dietitian – Job Description
Description
Provides comprehensive nutritional care to patients and residents with special nutritional needs or those identified as being at nutritional risk. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments and reassessments, providing patient and family education, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, developing individualized nutritional plans of care, and accurately documenting all interventions in accordance with facility policies and professional practice standards.
The Clinical Dietitian functions as a competent clinician, delivering safe, effective, and evidence-based nutritional care while utilizing appropriate clinical judgment, technical expertise, and decision-making skills.
Requirements
- Shift: Day Shift
- Floating: Required as needed throughout the Kern County Network, including AHTV, AHBD, and AHDL
- Clinical Dietitian experience: Preferred
- Dietetic internship or equivalent: Required
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition or an equivalent field: Required
- Master’s Degree: Required only if eligibility for the examination began on or after 01/01/2024
Licenses & Certifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD): Required within 6 months of completion of the residency program.
