CVICU RN – Days | 36 Hours/Week | Every Other Weekend
Location: Maryland
Start Date: 09/14/2026
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3×12 Hour Days (7:30 AM – 8:00 PM)

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience required
• First-time travelers will be considered with 2+ years of extensive CVICU/Open Heart experience
• Active Maryland RN License
• BLS & ACLS required
• NIH preferred

Schedule & Expectations:

• Every other weekend required
• Holidays as scheduled
• Floating within the specialty, including IMC and lower-acuity units as needed
• No scheduled on-call shifts

Unit Details:

• Adult/Geriatric patient population
• 8-bed CVICU
• Average Daily Census: 6
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:
  • CVICU/CCRU: 1:2
  • IMC (if floated): 1:3

Patient Population:

• Post-operative Cardiac Surgery (CABG, Valve, CABG/Valve)
• CAD (STEMI, NSTEMI, A-Fib with RVR, Cardiogenic Shock)
• Vascular Procedures (Peripheral Bypass, EVAR)
• Thoracic Surgery (VATS)

Specialized Skills:

• Immediate post-operative cardiac surgery care
• 1:1 patient care during the first 12 hours post-op
• Ventilator management (in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy)
• FloTrac Monitoring
• CRRT
• IABP
• Impella
• Groin/Radial Artery Management (FemStop, TR Bands)
