Weekend Rotation: EOW
Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
Floating Requirements: Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main + CMC Mercy + Levine Children's Hospital

Unit Information:
- Beds: 34
- Average Census: 32 3 surge rooms
Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months of Med/Tele RN exp
Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- Med/Tele Surgical: ESRD, CHF, Pneumonia, Sickle Cell Crisis, Diabetes/DKA, Wounds, Acute/Chronic Renal Failure, etc. Mosty medical, not many surgical patients.
- Starting Spring 2026, this unit will have Hematology/Oncology patients. Travelers do not need to have chemo certification and will not give chemo. Travelers must be ok caring for these patients.
Patient Ratios:
- RN: Days: 1:5; Nights: 1:6 (critical surge 1:7-8)
- CNA: Days 1:12; Nights 1:12
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
- RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS preferred but not required. Will allow travelers to give chemo if certified.
- CNA: BLS
Skills required:
- RN: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone – ask manager approval if no experience), general medical/surgical skillset – care of patients with tubes/drains, IV start skills, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc.
- CNA: acute care MedSurg experience; experience with lift equipment - Hoyer
Support within the Department:
- CNA (Ratios – 1:12) – patient care (ADLs/Vitals/Nutrition) and mobility
- Receptionist/HUC, 24/7 – able to validate EKGs
- Charge nurse
- Phlebotomy, 24/7
- IV/VAT Team, 24/7
- Pharmacist dedicated to unit
- Case Manager x 2 per unit
- MedSurg Clinical Nurse Specialist
- RT 24/7 – will perform Nebulizer treatments
- Nurse Educator
- Hospitalist, 24/7
- Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes
Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: EPIC
- IV Pump: Alaris
- Med dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: Phillips
- Rover Communication
- Hoyer lift
Floating:
- Within region and scope of practice
- Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
- Region 2 - Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main CMC Mercy Levine Children s Hospital)
- If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
