LPN Corrections

Flexibility of Days or Nights (Will be assigned as site needs require)

Required Skills

• Ability to carry out physician orders and provide basic nursing care within LPN/LVN scope of practice
• Experience or comfort with pill call and medication dispensing, including accurate documentation
• Ability to support sick call and assist with examinations and treatments (room/equipment preparation, patient readiness)
• Strong understanding of medication control and inventory (including syringes, supplies, and equipment)
• Competence in emergency procedures and responding effectively during urgent situations
• Strong clinical documentation skills, including maintaining accurate medical file records
• Ability to maintain absolute security and confidentiality of medical records
• Clear, professional communication skills—able to interact with staff, patients, and others using tact, diplomacy, fairness, firmness, and good judgment
• Ability to work in confined areas, contribute to safety checks (doors/windows/secure areas), and follow facility procedures focused on security and contraband prevention

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience observing and documenting patient behavior in structured environments
• Familiarity with reviewing and processing reports/logs accurately and on time
• Comfort reading and interpreting medical/technical procedures and other official documents
• Exposure to accreditation-focused environments (e.g., meeting efficiency and service standards within a regulated medical program)

Preferred Education and Experience

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Prior experience in a structured, highly regulated setting is beneficial (but not required)

Other Requirements

• Active LPN/LVN license in the state of employment (required)
• Valid driver’s license (required)
• Ability to work rotating shifts as needed
• Ability to maintain professionalism in an environment where verbal hostility may occur
• Willingness to support patient movement/escort coordination for medical treatment and respond appropriately to unusual incidents and emergencies
