Minimum Experience: 2+ years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience

Position Overview

This is a Rapid Admission Unit caring for general medical and surgical patients, including patients awaiting surgery. The unit has a faster patient turnover than a traditional Medical/Surgical floor.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical and surgical patients.
• Manage a patient ratio of approximately 5–6 patients per RN.
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform assessments.
• Prepare and care for patients awaiting surgical procedures.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequent patient admissions and discharges.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a rapid-paced admission environment.
• GAPS registration is required for submission.
• Local candidates are preferred due to longer fingerprinting processing times for non-local applicants.
