Description
RN – Emergency Room (ER)
Required Skills & Experience:
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to rapidly assess and respond to patients with acute, emergent, and life-threatening conditions.
- Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions within the RN scope of practice.
- Proficiency in emergency nursing procedures, including triage, patient stabilization, medication administration, and monitoring.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple patients and competing priorities in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, paramedics, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during high-stress and emergency situations.
- Ability to accurately document patient assessments, interventions, treatments, and outcomes.
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other schedules based on department needs.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Previous Emergency Department (ED/ER) Registered Nurse experience is preferred.
- Previous acute-care or hospital nursing experience is preferred.
- Experience with trauma, cardiac emergencies, stroke, respiratory emergencies, and other critical conditions is preferred.
- Experience with emergency triage and patient stabilization is preferred.
Education
Required Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required for Emergency Department practice.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required or preferred based on department requirements.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is preferred/required based on facility requirements.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is preferred.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is preferred.
- Specialty certification appropriate to the Emergency Department is preferred.
