Description

ICU Float RN – Medical ICU / Neuro Critical Care

Position: ICU Float RN
Unit: Medical ICU / Neuro Critical Care
Beds: 32
Contract: 48-hour contracts available

Position Overview
Seeking strong, experienced ICU nurses to join our Medical Intensive Care & Neuro Critical Care team. This is a 32-bed Medical ICU licensed for Neuro Critical Care patients across two floors, with strong staffing support.

Float Requirements

  • Float between Medical HVCC, SICU, and IMC as needed
  • Must be comfortable caring for high-acuity ICU patients
  • 48-hour contracts will be accommodated

Patient Population / Cases

  • Sepsis
  • ESRD & AKI requiring CRRT/CVVH
  • Post-cardiac arrest care
  • Respiratory failure
  • Neuro Critical Care patients

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio

  • 1:2 standard ratio
  • 1:1 for patients requiring higher acuity care

Experience Required

  • Minimum 1 year of Level I ICU experience preferred
  • Otherwise, 2 years of ICU experience preferred
  • Strong MICU experience highly preferred
  • Experienced ICU nurses with strong clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply
  • New-grad nurses with only 1 year of experience may not meet the unit's experience expectations

Required Certifications

  • BLS – American Heart Association
  • ACLS – American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
Experienced ICU RN with a strong critical-care background, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to manage complex, high-acuity patients while floating across multiple critical-care units.
