Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg experience in a hospital or medical center setting required. No first-time travelers—must have completed a travel contract in the past 24 months.
• Specialized Patient Care Experience: Required experience must include General, GYN, Breast, Abdominal, Flaps, and ENT.
• Licensure: Active Iowa RN license required at submission.
• Certifications: Active BLS required.
• Charting: EPIC EMR experience required.

Compliance & Facility Details

• Local Radius Rule: No locals allowed. All candidates must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility (verified via driver's license).
• Employee Separation Policy: Past employees of UPH (FTE or PRN float pool) cannot work travel in another market within 12 months; the policy does not apply if they previously worked travel at UPH.
• Holiday Requirements: Unless the unit is closed, contractors are required to work 1–2 of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
• Float Requirements: Travelers will be required to float across all campuses (Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and Blank Children's Hospital).
