Med Surg/Telemetry RN

Position: RN – Med Surg/Telemetry
Unit: MedSurg West 3
Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts – 7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Schedule: 3x12s
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
Contract: 11 weeks
Weekends: Every other weekend
Holidays: Every other major holiday
Call: None
Floating: Yes, as needed
Block Scheduling: Not available
EMR: EPIC
Local Candidates: Accepted within 50 miles; local rate applies

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Med Surg/Telemetry patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions throughout the shift.
• Identify and interpret cardiac rhythms every 4 hours.
• Monitor patients using unit-based cardiac monitors.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC.
• Float to other units as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry RN experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• First-time travelers not accepted.
• EPIC experience required.
• Active/conditional Massachusetts RN license required.
• BLS – AHA required.
• 2 recent Manager/Supervisor references in matching specialty.
• Matching specialty Skills Checklist required.
• Nursys verification report from the last week showing current/conditional MA RN license.
• Flu vaccine required during flu season.
• RTO must be submitted at the time of submission.
