Mammography Technologist

Position: Mammography Technologist / Radiologic Technologist
Shift: Days
Contract: 13 weeks
Setting: Hospital / Medical Center

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiography and mammography procedures.
• Perform breast imaging to assist with diagnosis and interventions.
• Obtain and verify patient clinical history before procedures.
• Prepare and educate patients before examinations.
• Position patients and equipment appropriately for quality imaging.
• Operate radiography and mammography equipment safely.
• Select appropriate exposure factors while minimizing radiation exposure.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and correct patient identification.
• Assist providers with interventional procedures.
• Verify informed consent and maintain aseptic technique when required.
• Administer contrast media/medications when permitted by state law and facility policy.
• Provide appropriate physical and emotional support to patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital policies.
• Float to other departments when qualified and needed.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program required.
• OBMI certification/registration required.
• ARRT – Mammography (M) required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• No minimum experience required; 2+ years preferred.
• CRASE training required if assignment extends beyond 6 months.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Must be able to safely move/reposition patients and equipment.
