Registered Nurse — Emergency Department

Location

• Peoria, Illinois

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Shift

• Evenings, 12-hour shifts
• Scheduled by the manager; block scheduling may be accommodated
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage may be required based on department needs
• No call requirement
• Rare floating to other units as a help-all role

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• ENPC or PALS certification
• TNCC or TNS certification
• Must be able to produce a negative drug screen
• Must provide the last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off for submission

Experience

• General nursing experience preferred
• 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred

Clinical Setting

• Level 1 emergency department
• 65 private beds
• Typical patients range from newborns to elderly, including critical care, stroke, heart attack, and trauma cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:3–5, depending on acuity
• Nurses should be able to interpret and act on cardiac rhythms
• Nurses may assist with titrating drips, including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
• ED techs support the unit; nurses and techs draw labs

Additional Notes

• Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted
• Teaching-hospital experience is preferred
• SANE RN experience is preferred
