Shift Notes

6:45 to 3:15 Monday-Friday with 2 weekdays and 1 weekend of call

UMMC – OR Travel RN Requirements

Schedule

Monday–Friday: 6:45 AM–3:15 PM
Call: 2 weekdays per week + 1 weekend per month
No floating

Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience
Must be proficient in EPIC charting — hard requirement
No EPIC training provided
Must be able to scrub and circulate? No — not required for RN.
Required surgical experience:
- General
- Orthopedic fractures & scopes
- Plastics
- GI
- Urology
- Pediatric dental
- Surgical oncology
Total hip/knee experience is not required

Certifications

BLS
ACLS
PALS (if working pediatric cases)

Facility / OR

67-bed facility
4 ORs + 1 procedure room
Approximately 15–22 cases per day
Medication system: Omnicell
Charting: Epic

Onboarding / Orientation

1 week of unit orientation
HealthStream virtual education
On-unit orientation
Fingerprinting:
- Remote process: allow 10 days
- In person: available at Jackson or Grenada campus during the week before start

Flu Vaccine

Required
Only a medical exemption is accepted.
Exemption requires documented evidence from a healthcare provider showing a past severe reaction to the flu vaccine.
