Registered Nurse - CVICU

• 12H night - 7p to 7:30a with 30 minute unpaid break
• Floating required - will float to stepdown and/or med surg if necessary.
• Every other weekend required but no call.
• Holidays as needed
• BLS, ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) and NY RN license - required
• Manager will screen your profile If you don't have NY license in packet but can apply as soon as offered/accepted to ensure no delay in assignment.
• Prior travel experience preferred but not required
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required
• A minimum of 1 year of specialty experience required.
• Cardiac surgery experience and skills are required.
• Experience with CABG surgeries, Valve surgeries, Swans, IABPS.
• Patients are straight from OR to ICU so you will need CV experience straight from the OR. 

Auto offer if RTOs are less than 4 days, no holiday RTO, and at least 2 years' experience in specialty.

Unit details:

• 36 beds total- 24 ICU &12 IMC.
• The Intensive Care Unit is two-story, 36 bed critical care unit located in the E-1 and E-2 wings of Ellis Hospital.
• 24 beds are dedicated for critical care patients, and 12 beds are designated as step-down or intermediary between critical care and medical/surgical units.
• The ICU is a state-of-the art facility designed to provide care to adults who are critically ill, including: patients in shock who require hemodynamic monitoring; vascular, thoracic, and cardiac surgery patients; and patients with acute respiratory disease processes who require mechanical ventilation.
• There is a cardiac care area on the second floor of the ICU, which features cardiac ICU rooms equipped with operating room-quality lighting for use in emergency situations.
• The centralized location of the new ICU brings critically ill patients closer to key services such as the radiology department, operating rooms, the emergency department, and the Anna Bennett Cardiac Catheterization Suite.
