Position Overview

A Level II Trauma Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week Perianesthesia assignment. This position will primarily provide weekend coverage and includes both Pre-Op and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) responsibilities for surgical patients, with occasional Pre-Op care for GI patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care for surgical patients.
• Care for patients in the PACU following surgical procedures.
• Provide occasional pre-operative care for GI patients.
• Monitor patients and assess recovery following anesthesia.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC.
• Follow facility policies and patient-safety standards.
• Provide primarily weekend coverage with varied 10-hour shift start times.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience.
• Current, active California RN license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Previous EPIC EMR experience.
• Experience in both Pre-Op and PACU settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPAN – Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse.
• CAPA – Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse.
• Previous successful travel nursing experience.
