Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Stepdown
Location: Rome, New York
Unit: Med Surg / Stepdown Unit
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days/Nights | 3x12-hrs or 4x12hrs (both shifts available)
Pay for 36hrs per week: $2600 weekly
Pay for 48hrs per week: $3326 weekly
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical/Telemetry for a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide care to Medical Surgical and Stepdown patients and must be comfortable managing telemetry patients, cardiac drips, IV therapy, and complex wound care. The position requires flexibility to float between Med Surg and Stepdown units.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical Surgical and Stepdown patients.
- Monitor telemetry and accurately interpret EKG strips.
- Manage and monitor cardiac drips, including Cardizem.
- Perform strong IV insertion and IV management.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Paragon EMR.
Float between Med Surg and Stepdown units as required.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN License required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- NIH Stroke Certification required before start.
- Minimum 2 years of current RN experience required.
- MS/Telemetry experience required.
- Experience with cardiac drips/Cardizem preferred.
- Strong IV skills required.
- Wound care experience required.
- Must be willing to float to Med Surg/Stepdown.
Paragon EMR experience preferred.
