Compensation

Travel: $3,726/week gross

• Weekly Taxable: $2,480
• Weekly Non-Taxable: $1,246

Local: $80/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operating Room for a 13-week leadership assignment at McLaren Lapeer Region in Lapeer, Michigan. This position is responsible for overseeing OR operations, staff leadership, scheduling, compliance, and departmental resources while ensuring safe and efficient surgical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, hire, train, and support nurses, surgical technologists, and OR support staff.
• Coordinate daily OR assignments, staffing, and surgical workflow.
• Promote efficient utilization of operating rooms and departmental resources.
• Oversee departmental budgeting, supply purchasing, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection prevention standards, and sterile processing requirements.
• Provide leadership and support to the OR team in maintaining high-quality patient care.
• Respond to emergency situations and participate in required call coverage.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Director of Operating Room experience – Required
• Active Michigan license at the time of submission
• BLS certification through AHA – Required
• Strong OR leadership, staffing, and operational management experience

McLaren Lapeer Region is a 222-bed acute care hospital serving Lapeer County and surrounding communities. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center and provides comprehensive surgical services along with emergency, cardiac, oncology, orthopedic, women's health, rehabilitation, wound care, and other specialized services.
