Description

Unit Details

5-bed ICU + 2 IMC beds in hallway
ICU ratio: 2:1
IMC ratio: 3:1, based on acuity
Must be comfortable floating to Med/Surg-Tele
Charge RN takes a full assignment
No nursing aides
Hospitalist/Intensivist onsite until 6 PM; ICU tele-physician coverage overnight
RT available 24/7
Tele/monitor tech coverage 7 AM–7 PM; RN verifies strips and monitors MS unit strips

Patient Population

Common diagnoses include:

Respiratory failure
Septic shock
DKA
A-fib and arrhythmias requiring pacing
Detox patients

Strong ventilator management experience required. No pulmonology, dialysis, or cardiac surgery.
