🔥 PEDIATRIC FLOAT POOL RN – TRAVEL OPPORTUNITY 🔥

📍 UVA Children’s | Virginia
☀️ Day Shift | 4x12s | 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
⏱️ 36 or 48 Hours/Week
📅 13-Week Contract
🏥 Pediatric Float Pool

Looking for an experienced Pediatric RN who is confident floating across multiple specialty areas!

Position Highlights:
• Float to PICU, NICU, Peds Med-Surg, Peds PACU & Peds ED
• May float to L&D/Mother-Baby during staffing needs
2+ years PICU experience required
NICU experience required
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Previous PICU/NICU float pool experience considered
Epic experience required
• Travel experience required
• Clinical review + auto offer
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Every other weekend
• Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
• 60 hours of orientation

📋 Required Certifications:
BLS
ACLS
PALS
NRP
Dr. Brown’s Infant-Driven Feeding Certification
(Can submit pending; certification cost is $185)

Clinical Experience:
• PICU & Level III NICU
• Ventilator management
• ECMO & CRRT
• Vasoactive infusions
• Arterial & central line management
• Hemodynamic & ICP monitoring
• Pediatric cardiac care
• Post-cardiac surgery/cath care
• High-flow oxygen & BiPAP/CPAP
• Pediatric dosage calculations
• Tracheostomy & chest tube care

🏥 Unit Highlights:
• PICU: 22 beds | 1:2 ratio
• NICU: 54 beds | 1:2 ICU / 1:3 intermediate
• Acute Pediatrics: 1:4–5
• Pediatric ED: Variable ratios based on acuity

 

⚠️ Important:
• Up to 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract
• No RTO during the first 2 weeks
• All RTO must be submitted upfront
• VA license pending accepted — must be active before start
• Must follow UVA float policy
• Must be comfortable floating within scope of practice
