Description
Registered Nurse – Oncology
Facility: University of Maryland Medical Center - Downtown
Location: 22 S Greene St, Baltimore, MD 21201
Start Date: 09/14/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)
Schedule: Every other weekend
Patient Ratio: 1:6-7
Charting System: Epic
Float Required: Yes – within specialty and acuity
Call Requirement: None
Note: First-time travelers accepted with strong oncology/infusion experience.
Job duties:
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, electrolytes, hydration, and supportive oncology infusions.
- Access, manage, and provide care for ports, PICC lines, central lines, and peripheral IVs.
- Administer and monitor blood and blood products, coagulation factors, and other prescribed infusions.
- Assess oncology patients for treatment complications including anaphylaxis, hemorrhage, sepsis, nausea/vomiting, and altered mental status.
- Provide patient/family education, symptom management, care coordination, and supportive care for oncology and hematologic disorders.
Requirements:
License: Active MD or Compact RN License at time of submission
Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience with strong oncology/infusion experience
Certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC) required; ACLS, NIHSS, ONS/ONCC preferred
Other requirement: Travel experience required; CPI may be required for compliance; AHA required for BLS/ACLS/PALS.
Unit Details:
Unit: Outpatient Infusion Center - Stoler 2010-11257
Patient Ratios: 1:6-7
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: Solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, post-transplant conditions, sickle cell disease, iron deficiencies, and other hematologic disorders.
