Description
Labor & Delivery RN Job Description
Join a dedicated Maternity/Labor & Delivery team and provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced L&D nurse who is comfortable working both day and night shifts and caring for a diverse obstetric patient population.
Position Details
- Specialty: Maternity / Labor & Delivery
- Schedule: Variable Shift, 3x12s
- Shift Requirement: Must be willing to work both days and nights
- Experience Required: 4–5 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- EMR: Epic / Stork experience required
- Floating: Required as needed
Patient Care Responsibilities
The RN will provide care in:
- Antepartum
- Intrapartum
- Postpartum
- Gynecology
- Newborn care
Unit Details
The unit includes 18 beds, consisting of:
- 3 Triage beds
- 2 Antepartum beds
- 2 ORs for C-sections
- 3 Recovery beds
- 8 Labor & Delivery beds
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio
- 1:1 to 1:2, depending on patient acuity and care needs
Floating Requirements
Candidates must be willing to float to:
- Mother-Baby (MB)
- Pediatrics, if needed
- Other adult floors, as needed
If floating outside the nurse's scope of practice, the RN may be assigned in a helping-hands capacity.
