🩻 What You'll Do

As a CT Technologist, you'll perform a variety of diagnostic CT examinations using ionizing radiation while ensuring excellent image quality, patient safety, and compassionate care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CT examinations according to established protocols and departmental standards.
  • Operate CT scanners and related imaging/information systems safely and effectively.
  • Verify patient identity, physician orders, medical necessity, and exam requirements.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for CT procedures.
  • Review images for quality, clarity, accuracy, and complete anatomical coverage.
  • Administer contrast media according to established protocols and under appropriate physician/radiologist supervision.
  • Operate contrast injectors as applicable and educate patients regarding contrast-related safety.
  • Follow radiation safety, infection control, and sterile technique requirements.
  • Recognize and appropriately respond to emergent patient situations.
  • Provide clear patient education and maintain patient comfort throughout examinations.
  • Communicate pertinent clinical information with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, procedure records, consents, and incident reports.
  • Participate in quality-control processes and report equipment issues or malfunctions.
  • Complete examinations efficiently while never compromising patient care or image quality.
  • Assist with orientation, training, and instruction of students and fellow radiology technologists when needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of CT technology, imaging techniques, and protocols through continuing education.


🔧 Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of sectional anatomy, anatomical terminology, and patient positioning.
  • Proficiency with CT equipment, imaging techniques, and CT protocols.
  • Knowledge of contrast administration protocols and contrast injector operation.
  • Ability to view, transfer, manipulate, and evaluate electronic images.
  • Strong patient-care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organization and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and patient-focused imaging environment.


🎓 Education & Certifications

  • Associate Degree required.
  • ARRT (R) required.
  • ARRT (CT) required for this assignment.
  • BLS – American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • State licensure as applicable.
  • Radiation badge required; supplier-provided badge preferred.
  • For Colorado-based caregivers, applicable Fluoroscopy certification may be required.
