Registered Nurse Case Manager – Days

 

Location: Los Angeles, California
Contract: 13 weeks
Start Date: ASAP / 8/25
Orientation: 3-day paid orientation
Shift: Days | 8:30 AM–4:00 PM
Schedule: 5 × 8s | 40 hours/week

 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for a high-volume Case Management and Utilization Review assignment in Los Angeles.

 

IMPORTANT: INPATIENT CASE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

Candidates must have previous inpatient hospital Case Management experience AND Utilization Review experience. Outpatient-only Case Management experience will not meet the requirements for this position.

The RN will manage approximately 15–20 cases and will be responsible for both Case Management and Utilization Review functions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inpatient Case Management and Utilization Review
  • Review admissions and develop plans for safe, timely discharge
  • Coordinate discharge planning and transitions of care
  • Assist with transfers to the appropriate level of care
  • Collaborate with hospital Case Management teams, physicians, patients, families, and outside facilities
  • Work with utilization review partners to coordinate care for members receiving treatment outside of the health system
  • Identify barriers to discharge and escalate care needs appropriately
  • Provide education and coordinate follow-up and continuing-care needs
  • Manage a high-volume caseload of approximately 15–20 patients

Requirements

  • Active California RN License
  • 2+ years of RN experience
  • 1+ year of Case Management experience
  • INPATIENT hospital Case Management experience REQUIRED
  • Utilization Review experience REQUIRED
  • Experience with discharge planning and care coordination
  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
  • Comfortable managing a high-volume caseload
  • BLS
  • LA County Fire Card
  • Travel experience preferred but not required
  • Local travelers accepted
  •  

Schedule

  • No on-call requirement
  • No floating
  • Up to 4 days of RTO may be approved
  • Traveler orientation is held every Monday

Pay Package

 

Travel

Estimated Gross Weekly: $3,499/week

  • Taxable: $39/hr
  • Weekly taxable pay: $1,560
  • Housing per diem: $1,939/week
  • Overtime: $58.50/hr

 

Facility & Assignment Details

  • 500-bed hospital
  • Adult patient population, ages 18+
  • Approximately 15–20 cases per Case Manager
  • High-volume environment and major hub for transport patients
  • EMR: Epic
  • Scrubs: Royal Blue or Navy Blue

     

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a strong inpatient RN Case Manager who has hands-on experience with Utilization Review, discharge planning, transitions of care, and managing a high-volume caseload. Excellent, clear communication is essential for this role.
