Job Highlights

• Neurosurgical ICU / Stepdown / PCU RN
• 36 or 48 hours/week
• Weekends, holidays, on-call, callback and charge responsibilities based on unit needs
• Mixed-acuity neurosurgical unit
• Includes an 8-bed high-acuity Stepdown unit
• High-acuity neurological and hemodynamic monitoring

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• High-acuity Stroke & Neurosurgery experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Candidates should be experienced with:
  • Q1-hour neuro checks
  • EVDs
  • Lumbar drains
  • Subdural drains
  • 3% hypertonic saline
  • Cardene drips
  • Arterial lines
  • Carotid endarterectomy patients
  • Aneurysm coiling/clipping
  • Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS) insertion
  • VP shunts
  • Seizure management

Required License / Certifications

• Active New York RN license
• BLS – AHA only
• ACLS - AHA only
• NIHSS

• Epilepsy surgery
• Stroke patients
• Complex post-op neurosurgical patients
• Floor-level and high-acuity Stepdown patients
