• Specialty / Unit:
  • Step Down / PCU / IMC (5 North - PCU Oncology)
• Trauma Level Details:
  • Level 1 Trauma Center
• Beds:
  • 18 beds
• Patient Types / Common Diagnoses:
  • Adult Oncology PCU and Trauma PCU patients
• Patient Ratios:
  • Days: 1:4–1:5
  • Nights: 1:4–1:5
• Shifts & Scheduling:
  • 12-hour shifts (0630–1900 / 1830–0700)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Self-scheduling (balanced based on unit needs)
• EMR & Equipment:
  • EMR: EPIC
  • IV Pumps: Alaris
  • Lift Equipment: Lyko lifts in even-numbered rooms, additional lift equipment available
• Floating Information:
  • Floats to other Med/Surg and PCU units (float assignments remain at the same level of care)
• Orientation & Testing Requirements:
  • Two days of unit orientation
  • Pass/Fail Exam: Open-book exam on skills learned given on Friday during orientation (must score 90%+ to pass or contract will be terminated)

Job Requirements

• Experience Required:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Strong PCU experience required (Oncology experience preferred)
  • Charge nurse experience not required
• Licenses Required:
  • Active state license required at submittal
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS (AHA) required
  • ACLS (AHA) required
  • ONS/ONCC Chemo Certification preferred (not required)
