Ambulatory RN (Case Manager) – OB Clinic
Location: Juneau, Alaska
Shift: Monday–Friday, Day Shift
Contract: 15 Weeks

Job Overview
SEARHC is seeking an experienced Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) – Case Manager to support its OB Clinic in Juneau, Alaska. The RN will provide comprehensive, patient-centered outpatient nursing care while coordinating services for patients and families across the continuum of care.
The ideal candidate will have OB case management experience, strong clinical judgment, excellent care-coordination skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with providers and interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced ambulatory environment.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Alaska RN license required at the time of submission.
- OB case management experience required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required.
- Case Management certification preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Must meet applicable nursing competency and certification requirements.
- Traveler must reside at least 100 miles from the SEARHC facility to qualify for traveler status.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify changes in patient condition.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized nursing plans of care.
- Coordinate patient services, referrals, follow-up appointments, and continuity of care.
- Administer medications and treatments safely according to provider orders and organizational policies.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, medications, care plans, and discharge needs.
- Exercise independent nursing judgment and determine when consultation, collaboration, or escalation is necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Advocate for patients and assist them in navigating the healthcare system.
- Document assessments, interventions, care coordination, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
- Provide culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives.
- Report adverse events, near misses, safety concerns, and unsafe conditions according to policy.
- Maintain required competencies, certifications, and mandatory training.
- Provide appropriate guidance and delegation to ancillary staff.
- Support orientation, mentoring, and education of staff, students, and peers.
- Float to other departments or assignments as needed.
Clinical Practice
The RN is expected to practice in accordance with Alaska Board of Nursing requirements, organizational policies, and evidence-based standards. Responsibilities include applying professional nursing judgment, prioritizing patient needs, evaluating patient responses, and accepting accountability for nursing decisions and patient-care outcomes.
Additional Travel Information
- SEARHC does not provide housing, transportation, or flights.
- Housing and transportation are the responsibility of the agency/traveler.
- Following acceptance, the traveler must schedule fingerprinting.
- Fingerprint cards should be mailed to SEARHC in Juneau within 2–3 days of the appointment to help prevent delays.
- The start date will be no earlier than 5 weeks after SEARHC receives the traveler's fingerprint cards for processing.
- Compensation is all-inclusive.
