Description

RN – Labor & Delivery

Position requirements

Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Rotation: AM/PM rotation, with approximately 70–80% nights / 20–30% days
Local requirement: Must live 50+ miles away
L&D experience: 2+ years required
Cerner: Required
BLS: Required
ACLS: Required
NRP: Required
AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring: Required
Current RN license: Required

Patient population & clinical experience

The unit cares for:

Females of childbearing age
Pregnant patients beginning around 17 weeks gestation
Laboring patients
Patients requiring scheduled procedures
C-sections
External cephalic versions
Cerclage procedures, when applicable
Obstetric triage patients

L&D responsibilities

The RN should have experience with:

Labor and delivery
Vaginal deliveries
Cesarean-section deliveries
Antepartum/obstetric patients
Obstetric triage
Patient admissions and discharges
Transfers
Pre-operative preparation
Post-delivery care
Fetal monitoring
Electronic fetal monitoring interpretation
Cerner documentation
Fetalink documentation
