Description

Position: Clinical Laboratory Generalist / Medical Technologist

Shift: 12:00 PM–8:30 PM

Schedule: 5 consecutive days, Thursday–Monday

Days off: Tuesday & Wednesday

Responsibilities

Collect, process, and receive specimens including blood, urine, fecal, and body fluids.
Perform laboratory procedures across clinical laboratory departments.
Evaluate and troubleshoot specimen collection/processing issues.
Perform complex laboratory testing and recognize abnormal or unexpected results.
Analyze QC data and take corrective action to maintain accuracy and precision.
Respond to questions regarding test results, methodology, sensitivity, specificity, and factors affecting results.
Monitor laboratory instruments and temperature indicators.
Maintain competency in required laboratory skills.
Participate in evaluation and implementation of new laboratory techniques and procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree for grandfathered personnel.
CLS or MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
New MT graduates must pass the certification exam within 6 months of employment.
Strong laboratory generalist experience is expected.
