Labor & Delivery (L&D) RN travel contract 

Start: September 2026

Shift: Days, 07:00–19:30, 3×12s

Weekend: Required — minimum 6 weekend shifts per contract, generally every other weekend

Call: None

Floating: Required; rotate through:

• L&D
• C-section circulator
• Baby RN
• Triage
• High-risk antepartum/postpartum

Scheduling requests: None accepted

RTO: Maximum 2 weeks total; no RTO during the first 2 weeks

Orientation: 36 hours

Patient ratio: 1:2

Daily census: 15–20

Unit: 22 L&D rooms, 4 ORs, 3 PACU, 4 triage, 12 high-risk MFCU beds

Hard requirements

• California permanent RN license in hand at submission
  • No pending license
  • No temporary license
• 2 years L&D RN experience
• 3 years L&D experience if you're a first-time traveler
• ACLS
• BLS
• NRP
• AWHONN Advanced is also listed under certifications
• High-risk antepartum experience
• Teaching-hospital experience
• Flu vaccine during flu season, no exemptions

Particularly important

The posting specifically says first-time travelers need at least 3 years of L&D RN experience. So if you have never traveled before, 2 years isn't enough.
