Travel RN – Neuro Intermediate Care | Massachusetts
Assignment Details
- Specialty: Neuro Intermediate Care / IMCU RN
- Shift: 12-hour Day/Night rotating
- Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly
- Guaranteed hours do not include on-call hours worked
- Start: ASAP
- Orientation: Weekly, typically every Monday
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Float Required: No routine float; may float between the Neuro IMCU and Neuro ICU floor
- Experience Required: 3+ years related experience
- EMR: Epic
Unit Details
- 18 Intermediate Care beds
- 18 General Neuroscience beds
- Located in the Rosenberg building
- Patient Ratio: 1:3
Patient Population / Clinical Experience
Candidates should be experienced caring for high-acuity neuro patients including:
- Arterial lines
- EVDs
- Lumbar drains
- Post-op day zero neurological cases
- Acute thrombectomy patients
- TPA administration
- Vasoactive infusions
Must-Have Skills
Experience with the following is required:
- EVD management
- Lumbar drains
- Arterial lines
Required Certifications
- BLS – AHA
- ACLS
- NIHSS
Licensing
- Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
Traveler Requirements
- No local travelers accepted
- Candidate must reside 50+ miles from the facility
- Travelers who worked for Beth Israel Lahey Health as permanent or per diem staff within the previous 6 months are not eligible
- Must be separated from BILH for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler.

Best fit is an experienced Neuro IMCU/stepdown RN with 3+ years of relevant experience who is confident managing EVDs, lumbar drains, arterial lines, acute stroke/thrombectomy patients, TPA, and select vasoactive drips. Strong assignment for a neuro-focused traveler comfortable with a 1:3 intermediate-care ratio and rotating day/night schedule.
