Registered Nurse – Immunization Program
Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Assignment Period: August 31, 2026
Location: San Mateo, CA 94401
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday | 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Hours: 4 hours/day | 20 hours/week
Work Setting: Onsite, Patient-Facing

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support an in-store immunization program in San Mateo, California. The RN will be responsible for administering a variety of vaccinations, including flu, COVID-19, MMR, and other routine vaccines, while delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care.
The successful candidate will have strong vaccination and medication-administration skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and the flexibility to work in a dynamic community healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely administer flu, COVID-19, MMR, and other authorized vaccinations.
- Perform appropriate patient screening and assessment before vaccine administration.
- Review relevant patient information and identify potential vaccination concerns or contraindications.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding vaccines, expected reactions, and post-vaccination care.
- Monitor patients following immunization and respond appropriately to adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate and timely vaccination and patient-care documentation.
- Follow medication administration, infection-control, and patient-safety protocols.
- Use appropriate PPE and maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow and quality outcomes.
- Adapt to changing patient volumes and operational needs.
- Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and a patient-first approach at all times.
- Maintain compliance with applicable clinical, regulatory, and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where services are provided.
- At least 1 year of related nursing experience, including immunization/vaccination experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong clinical skills, including medication administration.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to administer vaccinations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced community healthcare setting.
- Flexibility with assigned work hours.
- Verifiable High School Diploma or GED.
- Must not be listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in vaccination clinics, retail health, ambulatory care, community health, occupational health, or similar settings.
- Experience administering multiple vaccine types.
- Strong patient education and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative healthcare team.

- 20 hours per week
- In-person, patient-facing position.
- Onsite work required as needed.
- PPE will be provided.
- Candidate must remain flexible to accommodate operational and patient-care needs.
