CVOR Surgical Technologist – Travel Contract
Important Rate Information
Rates are tiered based on candidate mileage, measured by direct-line distance rather than driving distance:
- Travel: 101+ miles
- Radius: 51–100 miles
- Local: 50 miles or less
Position Requirements
- Specialty: CVOR / Certified Surgical Technologist
- Floating: Required
- Call: As required
- Weekends: As needed
- Holiday Requirement: Travelers must work 2 of the following 4 holidays:
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
- New Year’s Day
Required Certifications
- AHA BLS – Required
- NBSTSA Certification – Required
- CNOR – Preferred
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
- Prior travel experience required
- Experience in a large teaching hospital required
- Level I Trauma Center experience within the last year required
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience
- CVOR Techs must have experience working in a single-scrub capacity for CT/CVOR cases
Required Clinical Skills
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in:
- Cardiothoracic / CVOR
- Orthopedics
- Robotic Surgery
- General Surgery
- ENT
- Plastics
- Neurology / Neurosurgery
Scheduling & Submission Requirements
- No block schedules
- Must be available Monday–Sunday based on facility needs.
- Bi-weekly orientation: Monday
- IVS to Offer
- All employment gaps of 90+ days must be explained.
- Complete work history is required at submission, including:
- Facility type
- Bed count
- EMR
- Relevant unit/department information
- Other applicable facility details
Transportation & Weather
- Public transportation is not accessible in the area.
- Reliable transportation is strongly recommended.
- Candidates should have a personal vehicle or rental vehicle.
- From November through April, vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist with recent Level I Trauma experience, prior travel assignments, and strong single-scrub CVOR/CT experience. Candidates should be comfortable floating, taking call, working weekends and holidays, and working in a large teaching-hospital environment.
