Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray) | Massachusetts

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday
  • Primarily 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Schedule may occasionally fluctuate based on department needs (e.g., 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

Position Overview

Using radiological (X-ray) imaging equipment and established imaging standards, the Registered Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic procedures under close to moderate supervision. This role requires strong technical expertise, patient-centered communication, and a commitment to safety while producing high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and perform diagnostic radiological (X-ray) examinations.
  • Review and interpret imaging orders, consulting with physicians when orders are unclear, complex, or require additional clarification.
  • Select appropriate imaging protocols and technical parameters based on anatomy and clinical indications.
  • Interview patients to identify safety concerns and risk factors prior to imaging procedures.
  • Educate and guide patients throughout the imaging process, helping to alleviate anxiety and ensure a positive experience.
  • Apply cultural sensitivity and effective communication when working with diverse patient populations.
  • Upload images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Accurately document procedures and patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Follow departmental quality, safety, and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and registration.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy acquired through education and/or clinical experience.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting radiology orders.
