Job Title: L&D - RN (Travel Contract)
Specialty: Labor and Delivery / LDRP (Novant Health)
Location: Jefferson, North Carolina (Novant Health Ashe Memorial Hospital Rapid Response)
Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 36 or 48 hours)

Position Summary LDRP Registered Nurse needed for an L&D unit with approximately 100 births last year. Responsibilities include providing mother and baby care, managing high-acuity/high-risk cases requiring strong clinical autonomy, and mandatory floating out to MedSurg, CNA, secretary, and/or helping hands roles as needed. Charting systems include Centricity and Meditech Magic.

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum two (2) years of experience required (First-time travelers accepted)
Active North Carolina or compact nursing license (pending licenses are acceptable for submittal)
Required Certifications: ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, and BCLS (STABLE certification preferred)
Required Skills: Fetal heart monitoring and couplet care
Compliance & Submission Rules: Lab and testing completion within 48 hours of signing; former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months; RTO capped at 7 days with mandatory work commitment for 2 of 3 major holidays

For 48 hrs the pay package is :$2830/week

Cons

Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
